10 REASONS WHY THE SOUND OF VESPAS IS SIMPLY AWESOME

Published by RISER at August 09, 2017 in Articles

For everyone who doesn’t drive a motorcycle, bikes are just a pain in the ass because they’re so loud.
Here in Vienna the situation is still quite easy: mopeds, mofas, motorcycles - you encounter them everywhere in the city but at the same time the cars are still in majority. An article in Zeit Online recently discussed, in a conversation between journalist Peter Ilg and market survey expert Werner Hagstotz has been discussing the question about the reason why motorcycling is trendy again. One thesis is that motorcycling seems to be an antipolitic statement today. Not related to market data, we think that a vehicle like a vespa is more than an antipolitic statement: It does something to people when integrated in the city landscape, that only a vespa can do in summer. It’s a mixture between the feeling of freedom, juvenile fun, something wild and thus romantic. That’s why we are PRO Vespa-noise and have made a list for you on behalf of the topic.

With friendly support of FABER GmbH we also are doing a lottery - send us the right answer to the question at the end of the article and have the chance to win one of 3 motorcycling helmets!

1. Vespa-Sound - the call of freedom

You can recognize the sound of a roaring Vespa engine. It doesn’t sound like a heavier machine that you would use for longer travels. The name Vespa fits perfectly. When a bunch of Vespas crosses your way it sounds like a swarm - just not so agressive. It’s almost as if they were yelling: Follow us, where we are, there’s freedom!
The call of freedom is something that makes the difference and wakes us up almost as much as coffee in the morning: Let’s go!

2. The sound of vespa is always an indicator for a fun-trip!

You don’t think about work when you hear a Vespa. You think about vacation.

3. In every Vespa there’s so much summer holiday

Especially in summer a Vespa is like a piece of Italy driving by right before your face. You associate the Vespa not only with a piece of “dolce vita” but with holidays - reason enough to love the sound of Vespa engines roaring.

4. Vespa noise is better than car noise

...at least that’s what our head of communication says. She thinks vespa noise is simply nicer than the roaring engines of pimped cars that race too fast through the streets of your city. Well yeah, nothing to add!

5. One vespa is better than a hundred

When you hear Vespa noise in Vienna you always know: It’s not gonna get louder! The Vespa here is a minority and every time you hear it you know it will NEVER be like in Rome or Naples - or some other Italian city - where you cannot have a conversion on the street without shouting because the noise is so loud.

6. Maybe a hundred are better than just one?

Maybe our number 5 is totally wrong because it’s like this: Imagine living in an italian city. You’d get used to all the noise, the noisy swarm of Vespa would become part of your every day life pretty fast and you’d miss it a lot if it wasn’t there. So yeah, a hundred Vespas might be better than one!

7. Coolness in audio format

We think that a Vespa is not just the design but also the sound. When we here “Vespa” we think about the Red or White Italian Chicness but also about the unmistakeable sound - that you really can’t put on paper in words :-)

8. Amore!

Vespa. You gotta Vespa in two, right? Always when hearing a Vespa we think of italian couples that sit on the Vespa driving to the beach (in our world they ALWAYS go to the beach). No love, no Vespa. No Vespa, no love!

9. Liveliness in miniature

A Vespa is nice but she stands on your nerves, is funny, has got the power! Hear the Vespa honk or the engine roaring you will instantly know much about the mood of the person driving it and how that person is - boring or very much alive. :-) E vai!

10. A little bit of South in the North cannot be wrong

Mentality here in Vienna is very different from Italy. We think a Vespa gives a little bit of Italian coolness and easyness to the city. Be a good kid - there’s still enough time for that later. Don’t forget about dolce vita!

If you do live in Austria, then you’re lucky. Because Vespa gives you back all your money spent on an upgrade to your driving license to Code-111 (valid from june to august 2017) when buying a Vespa 125 ccm - that’s a total value of € 230,- ! It’s super easy - if you have been having your license for 5 years continuously, you can take 6 practical lessons in every driving school or auto club and make the license for 125 ccm bikes, without giving an exam. Try it yourself and find more info on Faber Roller & Bike Shop http://www.faber.at/markenwelten/vespa/code111 )If you wanna know more about Vespa and the Italian motorcycle feeling read more on www.mipiace.at

GIRLS JUST WANNA HAVE FUN PT.3 - COUNTRY HATTRICK ON THE MOTORBIKE

Published by GINA DREWES at November 16, 2018 in Tours
Carinthia is the southernmost province of Austria and I grew up here. The borders to Italy and Slovenia are a stone's throw away and so I spent a part of my childhood at the sea. However it also felt like years in the car, since my mum made the country roads unsafe with her green lame duck at that time. What always led to bare nerves of all fellow travellers and could only be made good again with a visit to...
